The Mist
Mist!
It sounds like something negative,
- something you want to avoid! Visibility is restricted, - and you
have to keep a high level of alert, - slow down, - or maybe even stop -,
just like you have to do when driving a car on the road in poor visibility.
However, - when it comes to
a ship, - dense fog can also be a blessing.
Like for example when navigating
the Mississippi river - - - -
To some categories of sailors,
Mississippi normally means one or often two days without possibility sleep,
because we are constantly on stand-by, but when the fog rolls in, all navigation
on the river is temporarily stopped until the fog lifts again.
And with the pilot gone and
the anchor dropped, - you can finally sleep, sleep, sleep - - - -
Wonderful!
And the mist is actually very beautiful, - makes the ships appear ghost like, - as if they were not real -, - like in a dream world - - -
Here some pics from the mighty
Mississippi River, where navigation is temporarily stopped because of mist.

Mist in The Bermuda Triangle
Here some pics from a passage
through the Bermuda Triangle with "Stolt Avance".
There are no more ships dissappearing
in the Bermuda Triangle compared with many other areas of the mighty oceans,
but still you cannot help having some thoughts about it when you are near
that "haunted" place - - - -
